TU College of Business and Economics receives reaffirmation of AACSB International accreditation
TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University College of Business and Economics (CBE) has achieved reaffirmation of accreditation of its bachelor's and master's degree programs in business administration by the Board of Directors of AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Towson University is the only University System of Maryland institution with AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation for both its business administration and accounting programs.
To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality, mission-linked standards relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process, and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. From Feb. 24-26, 2008, CBE was visited and evaluated by business school deans and chairs with detailed knowledge of management education, applying accreditation standards that are widely accepted in the educational community.
"The single most important proof of our hard work and commitment to excellence is sealed," Dean Shohreh Kaynama says. "I could not be more proud of what my faculty, staff, and students have done and are doing for the college and the university."
AACSB International is an association of more than 1,100 educational institutions, businesses and other organizations in 70 countries that are dedicated to the advancement of business education worldwide. AACSB International is the longest serving and largest global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
