COUNSELING CENTER
Crisis?
The Counseling Center is available during regular hours to help with an emergency or crisis. When the Counseling Center is closed, as a Towson University student, you still have access to emotional help and coping if you need it.
Sometimes a helpful listening ear is enough to help you get through to the next morning we are open. In this case we recommend you call one of the following local resources:

410-531-6677.
This is a Baltimore County - funded telephone counseling that uses volunteer and peer counselors.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline:
800-273-TALK (8255)
iA 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to
anyone in suicidal crisis.

From off-campus, that number is 410-704-2133. Or, you may dial 911 immediately or proceed directly to the nearest hospital emergency room.
The Campus Police have ways of reaching the staff at the Counseling Center as needed any time in an emergency, for consultation or other forms of help.
Of course, if you have occasion to use any of these services we urge you to call us at the Counseling Center (410-704-2512) when we are open at your next opportunity, so that we can assist you more directly with your concerns. If you are going through a personal crisis that is interfering with your academics, the Counseling Center can help you in several ways. We may be able to help you to feel better, to recover more quickly and return to productive life at the university with fewer problems.
