The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics offers undergraduate programs in the traditional physical, mathematical and life sciences as well as graduate programs in selected areas. Our undergraduate programs are broad and are characterized by an optimal balance between theory and practice. Emphasis is placed on small classes and laboratory experiences that enhance the quality of the faculty-student interaction. Laboratories are well equipped and we emphasize hands-on experience with a wide variety of instrumentation.
The college serves both full and part-time students with diverse social, geographic, economic and educational backgrounds who are pursuing career and educational goals. To develop a scientific literacy in all students, we provide a wide variety of general education courses, firmly rooted in the liberal arts. The college places emphasis on undergraduate instruction in the sciences and mathematics, graduate instruction in selected areas, scholarship, and service to the community.
