NEW! Engineering Adventures Camps – Summer 2011
Dr. Lottero-Perdue's proposal, "Engineering Adventures: A Summer Camp Proposal for Harford Community College," was awarded by Harford Community College ($4660.00) and funded by a major technical contractor in northeastern Maryland. Dr. Lottero-Perdue will teach two camps to elementary children in the summer of 2011 using Engineering Adventures (EA) curriculum created by the Engineering is Elementary (EiE) team at the Museum of Science, Boston
This is the pilot year for the EA curriculum; Dr. Lottero-Perdue and 20 other pilot year testers from across the country will provide the EiE team with important feedback about the EA curriculum.
Summer Engineering and Science (SEAS) Clubs – Summers of 2008 & 2009
Dr. Lottero-Perdue has led the Summer Engineering and Science (SEAS) Club as part of the Summer Fun Club at the Havre de Grace Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County. The purposes of this club were to:
extend the science, technology, and engineering education of elementary children;
examine how children respond to Engineering is Elementary (EiE; www.mos.org/eie) units of instruction, some of which will be used in Harford County Public Schools; and
learn how children think about science, technology and engineering prior to and after club instruction.
