This scholarship was established in memory of Robert E. Daihl, who was a faculty member in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.
The scholarship is awarded to a science major in the Jess & Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics who intends to teach in a secondary school. The award is made during the semester that s/he is student teaching. Applications are due by June 1 for students who will be student teaching in the Fall semester, and by January 2 for students who will be student teaching in the Spring semester.
The application packet must contain:
a resume and
a letter explaining the applicant's interest in science teaching and highlighting additional service activities and/or other experiences that relate to the applicant's future career in teaching

All student recipients are expected to write a thank you note to the donor representative. The recipient will be contacted by the Office of Development with more information on the acknowledgment process soon after notification of selection.
