Study Groups are a task-oriented study system that requires students to use active learning skills in a small group setting.
How to establish a Study Group -- Our Process
Complete and submit the Study Group Request form below.
Once at least two students are interested in a course, an AAC representative will contact the students to set up an initial meeting and to review the purpose and goals of Study Groups.
Study group members will be given the "AAC Study Group Toolkit." The "AAC Study Group Toolkit" will give members guidelines on how to effectively form, facilitate and run a study group.
Being part of a study group is not similar to tutoring. Study Groups are facilitated by students. Group participants are expected to attend scheduled sessions, complete any out-of-class assignments and be prepared to share within the group.
The Academic Achievement Center, believes that regular, structured group meetings with classmates will help students develop greater understanding of course materials and strengthen interpersonal skills.
