Placement tests in Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Mathematics are administered by the Academic Achievement Center to students based on their SAT and ACT scores and high school academic records. Students required to take placement tests will be notified. If testing is required, it must be completed as soon as possible. Class schedules cannot be developed for students until testing is complete.
The test results determine if a student will need refresher work to strengthen skills in a particular area. Refresher courses may be completed at Towson University during the summer prior to the student's first semester, during Fall and Spring semesters, or at another college after approval is granted.
