African American Cultural Center

Future Projections

The AACC is deeply committed to providing exceptional programming and resources for all of its stakeholders. It is with this strong sense of commitment that the African American Cultural Center acknowledges that its potential to meet the needs of students, faculty/staff and visitors of Towson University will be fully actualized when it is housed in a free standing building.

The AACC will begin working toward this goal in the near future by researching opportunities, including direct and matching funds. Other future projections for the AACC include establishing an advisory board comprising staff, students, alumni and community leaders.

"...At Towson, students can rest assured that the African American Cultural Center takes time to truly rejoice, setting up a series of events designed to enlighten the Towson Community. "

Kali Schumitz
The Towerlight

"The AACC seeks to enrich the lives of students by sharing the rich legacy of our past, the promise and purpose of the moment ant the possibilities that lie in tomorrow."

Yvonne Hardy-Philips, Director
African American Cultural Center

"It is my primary responsibility to build lasting and meaningful relationships with students. This I hope to achieve by engaging students in all that the AACC has to offer; it is open to all students. I invite you to take advantage of the knowledge the center offers."

Art King
Assistant Vice President
Office of Diversity Resources
