African American Student Development

Partnership

The AASD seeks to establish, build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with university academic departments and community groups. Toward this end, the AASD has entered into the following partnerships:
  • Towson University African Sculpture Collection
    (with the Towson University Asian Arts & Cultural Center)

  • Family Weekend Program
    (with the Towson University Office of Alumni Relations)

  • Black Graduate Students, Faculty and Staff Reception
    (with the Towson University Center for Student Diversity)

  • "Southern Exposure" - Alternative Spring Break Experience
    (with Hillel, AASD and the Center for Student Diversity)

 


 

The African American Cultural Center and Hillel of Towson University organized "Southern Exposure: An Alternative Spring Break."

This Journey of African American and Jewish students traveled to Selma, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia and other stops during spring break of March 2005, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the March for Voters Right from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.
