An Open Major is a student who has not declared a major officially or who has decided that he or she wants to change from a declared major but has not specific replacement in mind.
Open Majors at Towson meet during their first year with their FYE adviser. If they have not yet declared a major after their first year, they will meet with an adviser in the Academic Advising Center. Each semester, the student will receive an e-mail announcing the dates for Open Major Advising.
All students must have a declared major by the time they reach 60 units toward their degree.
