Parking and Transportation Services is committed to providing alternative transportation options to the campus community. We encourage students, faculty and staff members to take advantage of the carpooling, shuttle, biking and public transportation options provided on campus. Utilizing the program incentives can not only save you money, but it can also help you lower your environmental impact, too.
The Alternative Transportation Program provides convenient, cost effective and environmentally-friendly options to help you get to Towson University's campus.
We understand that circumstances sometimes require that you bring a vehicle to campus or find immediate transportation home. To make these situations easier for individuals who utilize alternative transportation, we offer two back-up plans.
Every commuter student, faculty and staff member who is approved for the Alternative Transportation Program will automatically receive up to four free, day-long parking codes each semester, which can be used whenever he or she needs to bring a vehicle to campus. Codes provided are nontransferable and are only for use by approved applicant. University sanctions may apply for those in violation.
Each person will also be registered for the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) service, which provides a subsidized taxi ride or short-term car rental (up to four times per academic year) when he or she has to leave campus unexpectedly. The maximum reimbursement will be $40.
