Whether it's access to a carpooling database or a free ride to work via the off-campus shuttle, Parking and Transportation Services is committed to providing alternative transportation options to the campus community. We encourage students, faculty and staff members to take advantage of the carpooling, shuttle, biking and public transportation options provided on campus. Utilizing the program incentives can not only save you money, it can help you lower your environmental impact, too.
The Alternative Transportation program provides convenient, cost effective and environmentally-friendly options to help you get to Towson University's campus.
We understand that circumstances sometimes require you to bring a vehicle to campus or find immediate transportation home. To make these situations easier for individuals who utilize alternative transportation, we offer two back-up plans. Every commuter student, faculty and staff member who registers for alternative transportation will automatically receive four free day-long parking codes each semester, which can be used whenever you need to bring your vehicle to campus. Each person will also be registered for the Guaranteed Ride Home service, which provides you with a subsidized taxi ride or short-term car rental when you have to leave campus unexpectedly.
