Paratransit Service

Paratransit service is provided to faculty, staff and students who are registered with Disability Support Services (DSS).  To register, passengers must contact DSS to schedule an appointment with a Disability Specialist and complete a Disablity Support Services Application and a Paratransit Service Application. Once registered, DSS will issue a Paratransit Access Card. The passenger is required to display this card to the Paratransit driver upon boarding the vehicle. Unregistered passengers are allowed up to five Paratransit rides; this is done to allow time for the individual to register with and be approved for Paratransit service. Afterwards, individuals who have not registered and/or been approved by DSS will no longer be able to use the Paratransit service.

The university's Paratransit service offers on-campus scheduled pick-ups to all faculty, staff, students and campus guests with certified Paratransit needs. If you have a permanent or temporary mobility concern, this is the service for you. Transports for rides will be provided within 30 minutes of the requested pick-up time. Please call 410-704-7433(RIDE) to request Paratransit service.

Vehicles are equipped with a wheelchair lift and will make pickups at any campus location safely accessible by vehicle.

In addition to the Paratransit service, the front seats of each campus shuttle bus are reserved for individuals with disabilities. 

For those with Paratransit needs wishing to travel off-campus or during times when shuttle routes are not in operation, individuals will need to arrange for transportation through an outside service provider such as MTA Mobility. For more information, click here.

Hours of Operation During the Fall & Spring Semesters
  • Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday - Vehicles on scheduled routes will be equipped with lifts in order to accommodate those with mobility issues.  Click here for the Tiger Shuttle route schedule.  Click here for the Gold Route schedule (9 p.m. - 2 a.m.).
  • SafeRide - Vehicles operating this service will be equipped with lifts in order to accommodate those with mobility issues. Click here for SafeRide hours.
Hours of Operation - Summer, Winter Break, & Minimester

During the summer, winter, and minimester breaks when regular routes and SafeRide are not running and the campus is open, Paratransit services will be available Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Para transit service is also available during Safe Ride hours.

Please note: Campus shuttles operate an abbreviated schedule during the summer and over breaks. Campus shuttles do not operate when the university is closed for a holiday or for inclement weather.
