$15 million
The campus site and safety improvement project encompasses improvements and renovations to infrastructure on the campus’s main academic quad, including utilities, roads, lighting, pedestrian circulation and ADA improvements. The renovations address existing deficiencies and will provide the necessary infrastructure for future development. Construction will begin in July 2008 with the removal of a portion of the Lecture Hall ramp and continue into 2009 with the construction of a new campus entrance along Towsontown Boulevard. A raised plaza is proposed to extend from the new entrance to provide more convenient accessibility to the main levels of several campus buildings. The project is expected to be complete by 2011.

$72 million
Phase II of the College of Liberal Arts building encompasses the construction of a 193,000 gross square foot building which will connect to phase one’s 100,000 square foot structure to complete the building which will house the College of Liberal Arts.
Anchored by two large open atriums, the building will house general purpose classrooms and computer labs for classes containing between 25 and 90 students. The building will also contain faculty and departmental offices, meeting rooms, study lounges and a small café. There will also be much-needed specialization space to support the Psychology Department, including an animal vivarium, research space, observation rooms, and a children’s clinic.
The building is set to open with LEED silver certification in August 2011.
Towson Center Addition
This project includes the construction of a companion arena that will connect to the Towson Center. The addition will contain 5,000 seats, state-of-the-art video screens, entertainment suites/boxes and expanded lobbies. Construction on the approximately 90,000 square foot building is slated to begin in the summer of 2011, with the building open in 2013. The Towson Center will remain open during construction.
