Performance evaluations for all regular exempt, non-exempt and contingent II staff employees are rated on a streamlined scale with two options: "meets expectations" and "does not meet expectations." The revised forms will help to alleviate the misunderstanding around the numerical scales previously used for performance evaluations. They are available on the forms repository and have been presented to all campus divisions.
It is important to note that the new evaluation forms will have no effect on the calculation of merit pay, as evaluations and merit distribution are separate processes.
Towson University offers two employee assistance programs (EAPs): the Inova EAP and the Department of Budget & Management (DBM) EAP. All regular and contingent faculty and staff and their families are eligible to receive a wide range of helpful services 24/7 via the Inova EAP. This includes child and eldercare referrals, resources for children with special needs, short term counseling, and other life and work services. Employees can access Inova EAP services via the Inova website or by calling 1-800-346-0110. There is no need for a supervisory referral, although they are still available by contacting Employee/Employer Relations Manager JoAnn Joseph. Services are confidential and there is no premium, co-payment, or other cost to employees for any of Inova's services.
The DBM EAP is available by supervisory referral only. Supervisors interested in referring an employee to the program should contact the Employee/Employer Relations Manager JoAnn Joseph.
