Identifying and using your strengths is the key to improving individual effectiveness and team performance. You may even identify future career possibilities or ways to mentor less experienced colleagues. ___________________________________________ October 8, 2013 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Goucher College Alumnae/i House, Buchner Hall Customer Service in Higher Education Learn how to identify your customers and their expectations. Identify behaviors that constitute excellent service, recognize various modes of communication and when to use each, practice good customer service techniques, and develop a personal action plan to improve customer service back on the job. ___________________________________________ November 12, 2013 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Maryland Institute College of Art Main Building, Room 110 Working with You is Killing Me This session will aid your ability to recognize not only the symptoms of a negative workplace relationship but also the role each of us plays in these situations. Learn how to set boundaries and control your reactions to co-workers who cross those boundaries. You will also practice “unhooking” yourself from difficult interpersonal situations at work. ___________________________________________
December 3, 2013 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Towson University Administration Building, Room 120 Power, Politics, and Influence Skilled use of power and political tactics can be an important first step toward becoming more influential in the workplace. This workshop focuses on the interplay between personal power, politics, and influence processes. You will learn how and when to use a variety of influence tactics, what your preferred and most often used influence tactics are as well as the types of power available to you and how to increase each power base. The workshop will also provide an overview of three common political behaviors (networking, reciprocity, and coalition) and how they are used in organizations today. ___________________________________________
January 14, 2014 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Loyola University Maryland Timonium Graduate Center, Room 28 Staying Organized While Balancing Multiple Priorities While juggling multiple priorities and trying to do more with less, we must also meet deadlines, gain control over paperwork, and get more done in less time every day.
