Identify the job opportunities that provide the best fit for you. ___________________________________________ October 14, 2010 9am - 1pm Goucher College Alumnae/i House, Buchner Hall Decision Making This session will provide techniques to balance and incorporate critical thinking and decision making into everyday activities. You will learn to improve your evaluation and analysis of ideas, determine the best courses of action, resolve problems, and make sound decisions. ___________________________________________ November 16, 2010 9am - 1pm Towson University Administration Building, Room 120 Customer Service Excellence This session will provide essential skills to help you identify your customers and their expectations, levels of service, identify behaviors that constitute excellent service, as well as recognize various modes of communication. ___________________________________________ December 14, 2010 9am - 1pm Maryland Institute College of Art Main Building, Room 110 Working with You is Killing Me Interpersonal relationships with co-workers are important. Learn how to fix these relationships when they start to cause problems. This session will aid your ability to recognize not only the symptoms of a negative workplace relationship but also the role each of us plays in these situations. Learn how to set boundaries and control your reactions to co-workers who cross those boundaries. You will also practice “unhooking” yourself from difficult interpersonal situations at work. ___________________________________________ January 11, 2011 9am - 1pm Loyola University in Maryland Timonium Center, Room 58 Preparing for Difficult Conversations Getting a coworker’s help or buy-in to perform a task when you don’t have formal authority can be challenging. Participants will learn how to use various forms of communication to extend their influence at work. This session will help participants understand their sphere of influence and personal power, identify conversational goals, assess the needs and interests of listeners, select an effective influence strategy, and gain commitment. ___________________________________________ February 15, 2011 9am - 1pm University of Baltimore Student Center, Bogomolny Room Staying Organized While Balancing Multiple Priorities While we’re all juggling multiple priorities and trying to do more with less, we can focus on meeting deadlines, gaining more control over paperwork and files and getting more done in less time every day. Participants will develop an action plan to get organized and stay organized.
