Frequently Asked Questions
Towson University Wireless Network

1.   What wireless networks are available on campus?
Two wireless networks are available on the Towson University campus, tu-secure and tu-openaccess.

2. What is the difference between tu-secure and tu-openaccess?
Faculty, staff, and students should use the tu-secure network as this gives you secure access to other resources such as H: and O: drives. All university guests and visitors will need to use the tu-openaccess network.

3. Can I connect my streaming media or gaming device to the network?
Maybe, most devices should connect to the tu-openaccess network. Systems that require multiple components to be online at the same time to function will most likely not work.

No, tu-openaccess is available to all visitors to campus without a guest account. Students can also connect to the tu-openaccess network without using their NetID.

5. What it I forgot my password for tu-secure?
Towson University faculty, staff and students can reset their password at https://inside.towson.edu/psLogin/ or can call the help desk at 410-704-5151.

6. Can I access eduroam at Towson University?
No, while Towson University is an eduroam affiliate, the eduroam network is not broadcasted on campus. All visitors to Towson University should use the tu-openaccess network. Eduroam will still be available off campus at other participating universities.
