Wireless network services are inherently not as secure as wired networks. Protecting your information is important. Towson has taken all security precautions to make wireless services as secure as possible, while still remaining convenient and easy to use. While it would be extremely difficult for a wireless connection to be intercepted, the possibility does exist. For this reason we recommend you use your best judgment for which types of transactions you do via the wireless network. Towson University is not liable for any lack of security you may experience in using the wireless network. Please read OTS' Security Guide, located in OTS Training's self-help library, for more information.

Secure Methods of Access
Several levels of access and security exist for Towson Unplugged. The most secure option is the LEAP compliant 802.1x configuration. Other options exist for individuals who do not have a LEAP compatible device. At this time users with PDAs can only access wireless through Guest Access; configuration for the other levels of PDA access will be supported in the future. Click below for OTS Training's Wireless Summary, which includes specific information regarding the different levels of access and how to get started.
