Additional suggestions for Microsoft Internet Explorer settings

When some users view the Towson Online Services login page they get a blank screen without any text. Below are steps that have helped to alleviate this problem for some users. They are intended for users who are comfortable making changes to there browser settings.

  • If you are using a version of Internet explorer other than IE 7, upgrade them to IE 7
  • Click on Tools, Internet Options, Security (tab at top), and set the security to Medium
  • Click on Tools, Delete Browsing History, Delete All
  • Click on Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons and disable the SSV add-on if it is there (and try disabling other add-ons that you have never heard of)
  • Start IE without add-ons – Either
    • Click Start, Accessories, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
    • OR … Click Start, Run and type iexplore.exe –extoff
    • NOTE:  If this works, they will need to do this each time they use PeopleSoft or you can disable more add-ons to see which one is causing the problem.
