Student Employment
Event and Conference Services (E&CS) is a major employment opportunity for Towson students. During the Spring and Fall semesters, E&CS offers students positions with the Event Staff, Student Setup Crew, Tech Staff, and building managers at the University Union, West Village Commons, and Towson Center. During the summer semester, students can work with the Summer Conference Housing Program as a Front Desk Attendant or with the Linen Crew.
All E&CS student employment positions emphasize customer service and do not necessarily require any previous experience. Applicants need only possess adequate English language communication skills, a positive attitude and willing to work as a team.
Available positions
The Event Staff provides customer service and crowd management for athletic and special events held at the Towson Center, Unitas Stadium, University Union and other campus locations. The staff is also responsible for the setup and breakdown of various events.
The Student Setup Crew position provides support in the setting up and breaking down of all events on campus, including internal and external clients. This includes day to day operations along with special events at various hours. This is a physical labor position.
The Summer Conference Housing Front Desk Attendants greet conference guests in a courteous / professional manner while the conferences are staying in the dorms. The staff also assist guests who are checking-in/out of the conferences. The Desk Attendants serve as the first step in the emergency process for keeping the Summer Conference guests safe.
The Summer Linen Crew assist in inventory of linen and operational supplies prior to, during and following the Summer Conference season. They are responsible for preparing, delivering, and collecting linen packets prior to check-in and after check-out respectively.
