Purchase a Permit
Faculty/staff parking permit sales will begin at 9 a.m. on July 20, 2009. Regular Faculty/Staff who will continue their employment and utilized payroll deduction as a payment method for the previous year, will automatically have their permit renewed and mailed. Permits may be purchased online or by submitting an application to the Auxiliary Services business office located in the University Union. Towson University employees not currently in the university payroll system must bring their contract in order to verify their pay rate and be assigned the appropriate permit rate.
Towson University regular and contingent faculty/staff must purchase their permit on-line. Partner company employees (housekeeping, dining services, hotel) and volunteers, must complete a hard copy permit application and submit it to the Auxiliary Services Business Office in the Union to obtain their permit.
NOTE: Motorcycle permits must be purchased in person at the Auxiliary Business Office.

Parking Changes for Fall 2009/Spring 2010
- Handicapped spaces were relocated from Linthicum Lot 5 to Glen Drive Lot 2. Pedestrian paths have been modified to allow ADA access to core academic buildings.
- Faculty/staff parking has been expanded in the Glen Garage.
- Faculty/staff parking has been expanded on the 2nd level of the Towsontown Garage. (Spring 2010)
- New visitor parking pay stations were installed on the lower level of Glen Garage and Lot 12 (CFA).
- Freshman Commuters are required to park at Towson Center Lots.
- There is a new Para-Transit registration process with Disability Support Services.
- Lot 6 (Ward) will be converted to visitor & Burkshire guest parking. (Spring 2010)
- Visitor parking in the Towsontown Garage will be relocated to Lot 6. (Spring 2010)
Upon termination of employment, individuals who utilize payroll deduction or installment payments will be responsible for any remaining balance unless the permit is returned to the Auxiliary Services Business office. Refund amounts and remaining balance will be determined based on date of return to the Auxiliary Services Business office.
Individuals who do not wish to purchase an annual permit may park in a visitor lot and pay the prevailing rate or purchase a weekly or monthly permit for non gated faculty/staff lots or Towson Center lots. Please contact the Auxiliary Services business office for additional information.
Current faculty/staff permits expire on August 31, 2010.
Regular Employees (Towson University)
Regular employees are eligible to purchase a permit through payroll deduction (Fall 09 cutoff date is August 14, 2009), installment payments or by making full payment at the time of purchase. Upon termination of employment, individuals utilizing payroll deduction or installment payments will be responsible for any remaining balance unless the permit is returned to the Auxiliary Services business office.
Contingent and Contract Employees (Towson University)
Towson University contingent/contract employees, including adjunct professors, are eligible to purchase a permit through installment payments or by making full payment at the time of purchase.
Emeritus Faculty (Towson University)
Faculty who have retired from the university and have no other current affiliation (i.e. working or taking classes) are eligible to purchase a Faculty/Staff permit at the lowest rate.
Individuals wishing to purchase a permit must complete an application in person at the Auxiliary Services business office. They will be asked to provide an ID showing their emeritus status. Individuals who do not wish to purchase a permit may park in visitor locations and pay the prevailing rates.
Retired Staff (Towson University)
Staff who have retired from the university and have no other current affiliation (i.e. working or taking classes) are eligible to purchase a permit for parking in Towson Center lots during peak periods and in core campus lots outside of restricted hours. This permit may be purchased for half the cost of a commuter permit.
Individuals wishing to purchase a permit must complete an application in person at the Auxiliary Services business office. They will be asked to provide an ID showing their retired staff status. Individuals who do not wish to purchase a permit may park in visitor locations and pay the prevailing rates.
Partner Company Employees (Food Services, Cleaning, Hotel, etc.)
Individuals working for partner companies that have long term service contracts with the university (including custodial companies, food vendors, hotel management and companies completing long term construction projects) are eligible to purchase faculty/staff parking permits. Permit rates are based on the employee's compensation from the previous year, or for new employees, anticipated compensation for the coming year. Partner employees may purchase permits through installment payments or by making full payment at the time of purchase.
Temporary Employees
Temporary employees are required to purchase a permit or park their vehicle at a visitor location and pay the prevailing rate. Department funds may not be used to purchase permits for temporary state employees. Departments utilizing an employee from a staffing agency may use department funds to purchase a permit for that individual if he or she is temporarily assigned to the campus and is receiving pay from an employment agency. Department funds cannot be used to pay for the parking of employees who are paid by the state.
Volunteers
Volunteers providing services to the university and are not receiving any type of compensation (including pay or class credits) are required to purchase a permit or park at a visitor location and pay the prevailing rate. Volunteers can obtain faculty/staff permits at the lowest rate. Department funds may be used to purchase their permits. Volunteers must provide a letter from the department verifying their volunteer status. If a department wishes to pay for a volunteer's parking, a letter with the budget code signed by an individual with budget authority must be submitted with the parking application.
Vendors/Contractors/Service Providers/Construction Workers
All vehicles, other than delivery vehicles, parked on campus must have a valid permit or be parked at a paid meter/visitor space during designated hours. This includes but is not limited to service companies such as, Xerox, Fire Line, sales representatives and construction workers. Please contact the Auxiliary Services business office for additional information regarding the cost and appropriate permit.
Delivery Vehicles
Officially marked delivery vehicles (Pepsi, AJ's, UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) are not required to have a permit and may park in loading docks or a legal space for the purpose of making deliveries. Delivery vehicles may not park in fire lanes, on sidewalks or in handicapped spaces. Vehicles parked in these areas may be cited and/or towed.
Companies providing services or those remaining on campus after a delivery for set ups, etc., must purchase a permit.
