New Parking Policy

As part of our continued effort to better serve the campus community and provide safe and efficient parking on campus, the university has established the following parking policies.

Current Regulations

All individuals wishing to park a vehicle on Towson University property must abide by the regulations established by Parking and Transportation Services and the state Motor Vehicle Administration.  An individual's full time status takes priority over part time status.

Vehicles parked on campus must display a valid permit or be parked at a paid meter from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. Friday.  Permits are not required in most locations from 3 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday or when the university is officially closed for a holiday or inclement weather.  Reserved spaces and restricted lots are enforced at all times.  Information regarding restrictions is posted at lots and reserved spaces. Posted information takes priority over printed information and gate usage.  

During peak periods (Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), convenient parking on the core campus may be limited.  During these times, students are encouraged to proceed directly to the Towson Center and Unitas Stadium to park in lots 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21.  Shuttle service is available between these parking lots and the core campus.    

In order to help ensure the availability of safe parking and the efficient use of parking resources, regulations are enforced year round.  The university has been granted the authority under the Maryland Uniform Citation Code to issue citations on campus.  University citations carry the weight and importance of citations issued by any law enforcement agency in the State of Maryland.  Individuals who have outstanding citations may be subject to university sanctions, referral to the State Central Collections Unit (CCU) or administrative holds and fees with the Motor Vehicle Administration.
