Commuter Students Permit Information

Freshmen Commuters

Freshmen Commuters (29 or less credits) are only eligible to purchase an Overflow or Evening permit.  Overflow permits are valid for parking at the Towson Center and in designated "All TU Permits Valid" areas of the West Village Garage.  These permits are not valid on the core campus Commuter areas Monday - Friday prior to 3 p.m.   Core campus Commuter areas are defined as designated Commuter areas of the Union, Towsontown, and Glen Garages, as well as Lots 11 and 24a. 

Evening permits are not valid anywhere on campus until 3 p.m. Monday - Friday.   After 3 p.m., Evening permits are valid in any Commuter or Overflow area.

Non-Degree students are only eligible to purchase an Overflow permit. Overflow permits are valid for parking at the Towson Center and in designated "All TU Permits Valid" areas of the West Village Garage.  These permits are not valid on the core campus Commuter areas Monday - Friday prior to 3 p.m.

Non-Freshmen Commuters

Non freshman (30+ credits) commuter students may purchase a Commuter or Evening permit. Eligible students with a Commuter permit may park on campus in any Commuter or Overflow area at all times.  Overflow parking is available at the Towson Center and in designated Overflow areas of the West Village Garage.  Evening permits are only valid in designated lots after 3 p.m.

Individuals associated with some special programs may only be eligible to purchase an Overflow permit.  Overflow permits are only valid at the Towson Center and in designated Overflow areas of the West Village Garage 6 a.m. to 3 pm.  Overflow permits are valid in all Commuter and Overflow areas after 3 p.m.

Evening Students  

Commuter students who need to visit the campus during evening hours after 3 p.m., are eligible to purchase an Evening permit.  Students with Evening permits may park in Commuter and Overflow areas at the Towson Center and in desginated Overflow areas of the West Village Garage after 3 p.m. Monday - Thursday. 

Evening permits are also valid in Faculty/Staff lots after the posted hours at the lot.  Students who have Evening permits but wish to park on campus during the day must park in a desginated Visitor area and pay the prevailing rate. 

• Purchase a permit

Permits are not required in most locations from 3 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday or when the university is officially closed for a holiday or inclement weather.
