Commuter Students Permit Information

Freshmen Commuters

Freshmen Commuters (29 credits or fewer) are only eligible to purchase an "Overflow" or "Evening" parking permit.  Before 3pm Monday-Friday, these permits are NOT valid on the core campus Commuter areas of the Glen, Towsontown, Union Garages, or Lot 24a.

Non-Degree students are only eligible to purchase an "Overflow" or "Evening" permit.

Before 3pm Monday-Friday, "Overflow" permits are only valid for parking in designated "All TU Permits Valid" areas of the lots near the SECU Arena and Johnny Unitas Stadium and specific sections of the West Village Garage. Please read all signs before parking.

Non-Freshmen Commuters

Non-freshman (30+ credits) commuter students may purchase a "Commuter" or "Evening" permit. Eligible students with a "Commuter" permit may park on campus in any Commuter or Overflow area at all times.  Overflow parking is available at the lots near the SECU Arena and in designated Overflow areas of the West Village Garage.  "Evening" permits are only valid in designated lots after 3 p.m.

Individuals associated with some special programs may only be eligible to purchase an "Overflow" permit. "Overflow" permits are valid for parking at the lots near the SECU Arena and Johnny Unitas Stadium and in designated "All TU Permits Valid" areas of the West Village Garage.  Before 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, these permits are not valid on the core campus Commuter areas of the Glen, Towsontown, and Union Garages, and Lot 24a. Please read all signs before parking.

 

Evening Students  

Commuter students who only need to visit the campus after 3 p.m. are eligible to purchase an "Evening" permit.  "Evening" permits are not valid anywhere on campus until 3 p.m. Monday - Friday.   After 3 p.m., "Evening" permits are valid in any Commuter or Overflow area.

Evening permits are also valid in Faculty/Staff lots after the posted hours at the lot.  Please read all signs before parking.

Students who need to park on campus before 3pm will need to purchase a visitor permit from one of the yellow paystations located across campus and park in a designated Visitor or Overflow section. After 3 p.m., the vehicle will need to be relocated to a designated area for "Evening" permits.

Permits are not required in most locations from 3 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday or when the university is officially closed for a holiday or inclement weather.
