Student Regalia

Description

The graduation regalia consists of a gown, cap, tassel, and degree color hood.  All gowns are black with the Stephen's Hall logo in gold on the lapel and mid-calf in length.  Mortarboard caps and tassels are black.  The caps are elasticized; one-size fits all.

Bachelor's Gown-The gown has a pointed, full sleeve.

Master's Gown-The gown has a distinctive sleeve design that is oblong in shape, and the sleeves are open at the wrist.

Doctoral Gown-The gown has bell shaped sleeves that are fitted at the wrist.  The upper sleeve has three velvet-flocked bars or stripes.  In place of a mortarboard cap, doctoral candidates will wear 4-pointed tams with a gold tassel.

Degree Hood-The degree level, as specified by the Academic Costume Code, determines hood dimensions.  The gold and white satin lining represents Towson University colors.  The velvet band color signifies the degree earned.
