The primary focus of the occupational safety program is to provide campus personnel a safe and healthful workplace environment through the identification and elimination of physical and environmental hazards. This is accomplished through workplace inspections/hazard assessments and involves working closely with employees and contractors in order to eliminate or control identified hazards. Special emphasis is placed on office safety, asbestos, ladder safety, proper use of personal protective equipment, powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, boom truck) and confined spaces entry. Programs include Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation Program (HCP), Asbestos, Confined Space, Ergonomics, as well as many other occupational safety programs.
