Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where is my billing statement mailed? 
The billing statement is mailed to the student's permanent billing address.

2. How do I change my billing address?
The billing statement is mailed to the student's permanent billing address type. Undergraduate students can change their permanent address type at Towson Online Services. Logon; click Self Service; under Personal Information section click on Permanent Address link or fax your information to 410-704-2006. Graduate students should fax their permanent address type change to 410-704-4675 or call 410-704-2501.

3. What should I do if I did not receive a bill?
If you do not receive a billing statement at least one week prior to your processing due date, call the Bursar’s office 410-704-2100, or 1-888-5BURSAR.  Non-delivery of the billing statement does not release you from the payment or late payment assessments.

4. Where do I send my payment?
Mail in payment along with the top portion of the billing statement using the self addressed return envelope. Towson University, Bursar’s Office, Enrollment Services Center, Room 336, Towson, MD 21252.

5. Whom do I make my check payable to?
All checks or money orders should be made payable to Towson University for the exact amount of the charge.   The student’s name and ID number must appear on all checks submitted to the university.

6. What happens if I pay my billing statement is paid late?
A $75 late fee is assessed to any student who pays after published bill deadline.

7. Do you offer any payment plans?
The university offers a payment plan administered through TuitionPay (Sallie MaeSM).  Students who choose such a payment plan may arrange payments through Tuition Pay, 1-800-635-0120. 

8. What if my check is returned by the bank?
A $50 penalty fee is assessed when a check given in payment of fees, fines or services is returned unpaid by the bank for any reason.  Failure to reimburse the university for an uncollectible check may result in class schedules being cancelled.

9. Why is there a hold on my account?  
If you have a financial hold, contact the Bursar office at 410-704-2100 or 1-888-5-BURSAR.

10. Can I pay my bill online using a credit card?
Web credit card payments can be made on Towson Online Services. To access, logon; click Self Service; click Student Center; in the Finance section - click Make a Payment. Your username and password are required to make a payment on the Web. Full payment is required. Note: Bank check card or debit card payments cannot be processed through the web payment site.

 

11. How can I view my financial account information online?

To view your financial account information you will need to logon on through Towson Online Services. To access, logon; click Self Service; click Student Center; in the Finance section - click Account Inquiry. Your username and password are required.
