Financial Aid Rebate Checks

Rebate checks cannot be disbursed any earlier than 10 days before the start of the term.  Please check the Announcements section for the check disbursement dates.

Please note: if you drop classes from your schedule or withdraw from the university, you may have to repay some or all of your rebate money.

Federal Financial Aid Regulations

The U.S. Department of Education’s current regulations on the use of Title IV financial aid state that funds awarded for an academic year may not be used to satisfy previous semester/term tuition and fee charges exceeding $200. This applies to all Direct Loan programs, Federal Perkins loans, as well as Federal Pell and SEOG grants.

The regulations will prevent federal financial aid awarded in the current academic year from financing tuition or fees associated with any prior academic year charges. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office at 410-704-4236 or finaid@towson.edu.
