Below is correspondence from Gerard Mueller, the Corporate Purchasing Card Program Coordinator, General Accounting Division, Annapolis.
"Many cardholders have been receiving unsolicited email from people pretending to be from the Bank. (This is Phishing Email) These solicitations are designed to get you to disclose account numbers and expiration dates. If you receive any such unsolicited email, please contact your Procurement Office.
There has also been an increase in fraudulent purchases where sequential card numbers are being identified and used by thieves. It is important to report any unrecognized transaction to the Bank immediately upon discovery. "
If you receive an e-mail that
references the Bank and requests personal and/or financial information,
this may be a phishing e-mail. Do not respond to the e-mail. It is important
to remember that the Bank will NEVER ask for sensitive account
information via e-mail, including social security number, account
numbers, PIN or passwords.
