Financial Services offers a variety of small group seminars and one-on-one sessions to help University faculty and staff learn how to successfully complete TU financial processes and improve productivity. Introduction to PeopleSoft Financials and Department Budget Reporting - for New Users
This introductory workshop is required for all those who are new to PeopleSoft Financials and who need access to their department budgets. Learn about the chart of accounts, parent/child budgeting and transfers, how to gain access to the system, how to navigate within PeopleSoft Financials, how to run your nVision budget reports and how to view the expenses that have posted to your department budget.

Introduction to Interdepartmental Invoices
This is an introductory workshop that provides essential in-depth training to those individuals responsible for filling out the tri-colored Interdepartmental Invoices. Learn the purpose of using these invoices and how they are important to your budget. Also learn the details of what documentation must accompany each invoice. This one-hour workshop is designed to provide answers to all your questions on how to move expenditures and/or revenue between departments.

Business Travel for the TU Employee (formerly 'Introduction to the Business Travel Process' & 'Review of the Business Travel Process')
An all inclusive workshop that will walk you through Towson University's Business Travel process including policies and procedures for business travel, planning the trip, choosing payment options, completing the on line forms, and obtaining reimbursement. This workshop offers a small group setting that can meet everyone's needs, from the new TU employee to the experienced TU traveler wanting to brush up on their business travel process knowledge and skills.

Payroll's Student Employment Workshop
This seminar is designed to aid faculty and staff involved in the hiring and/or supervising of student employees. The focus is on the actual "how-to" processes of interviewing and hiring a student employee, clearing the student employee through the Payroll Office, submitting timesheets, and ensuring the student receives paychecks.

ProCard Reallocation & Reconciliation System
This is a "how-to" session that helps attendees learn to use the Web interface database program to access VISA charges, use the online system to make department and account (subcode) changes on purchases, reconcile transactions on VISA statements, and produce a printout of transactions that can be used as your permanent log. Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT)
The UBIT course will supply participants with a basic understanding of what constitutes unrelated business income. Topics that will be covered include: what activities can be classified as a trade or business, the difference between tax exempt and taxable income in the university setting, how the mission of the school affects classification of income, and the exclusions of income that are allowed under the UBIT definition.
