Clara Changxin Fang, LEED BD+C

 

Clara Fang, Sustainability & Campus Planning Manager

Clara Changxin Fang became Towson's second Sustainability Manager on November 14, 2012. Clara comes to Towson from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania where she served as the college's first Sustainability Coordinator. There she was intrumental in developing the college's greenhouse gas inventory, climate action plan, and sustainability outreach and communication. Prior to Swarthmore she worked with the Mayor’s Office of Energy and Sustainability in Albany, New York.

 

Ms. Fang earned a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. While completing her graduate studies, she worked with the Yale Office of Sustainability and the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy. She helped to write The Green to Gold Business Playbook: Implement Sustainability Practices for Bottom-Line Results in Every Business Function (2011) published by Wiley. She is a recipient of the John and Barbara Yellott Award from the American Solar Energy Society.

In addition to the environment, Clara has a passion for literature. She earned her Bachelors degree in English from Smith College and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from University of Utah. Her poems, essays, and paintings can be seen on her blog Residence on Earth.
