Dismissal
For serious reasons, the University may file for removal of a Non-exempt employee. The employee has the right to appeal the charges within five workdays of receipt of notification of the charge. An employee who wishes to appeal their termination must do so in accordance with the USM Policy VII-8.10 on Special Action Appeals.
Exempt employees serve at the pleasure of the President and may be dismissed at any time in accordance with USM Policy VII-1.22 on Separation for Regular Exempt Employees.
