Leave Earnings - Regular Staff
Annual Leave:
Full-time non-exempt are eligible to earn:
1-5 years = 10 days per year
6-10 years = 15 days per year
11-20 years = 20 days per year
21+ years = 25 days per year
Full-time
exempt employees are eligible to earn 22 days per year. Starting with
the 21st year, full-time exempt employees are eligible to earn 25 days
per year.
Annual leave for all employees may be accumulated to a maximum of 50
days that may be carried over into a new calendar year.
Holiday Leave:
Employees are eligible for up to 14 holidays per calendar year. Employees earn
additional leave for general or congressional elections and special holidays declared by the
Governor. Holiday leave earned must be used within the calendar year it is earned.
Personal Leave:
Employees are eligible for up to 3 personal days each calendar year. Personal leave must
be used within the calendar it is earned.
Sick Leave:
Exempt and non-exempt employees are eligible to earn up to 15 days of sick leave per year. Sick leave may be accumulated without limit. Earned sick leave may be used for an employee's illness, an immediate family member's illness, and up to 30 days following the birth or adoption of a child.
Leave Earnings – Contingent II Staff
Annual Leave:
Employees earn 6 days per year. The annual leave balance may not exceed 6 days at any time.
Holiday Leave:
Employees earn the 8 holidays on which TU is closed each calendar year. Holiday leave earned must be used within the calendar year it is earned.
Sick Leave:
Employees earn 3 days per year.
GeneralAll leave earnings are pro-rated for part-time employees . Other leaves are available as determined by the USM.
