Center for Instructional Advancement and Technology (CIAT)
Multimedia Services
CIAT's Multimedia Services designs and creates media to support academic courses and scholarly research. Services include graphic and illustration design for courses, poster creation and printing, and video production. CIAT staff will work with faculty to determine their project requirements, visualize the contents, and discuss all elements for the design. There are no charges for services rendered; however, project requests must be within the scope of the CIAT mission and are limited to course content and the presentation of faculty research.
Please contact David Merino (dmerino@towson.edu) for video production projects and Tiffany Henley (CIATProjects@towson.edu) for graphic/illustration design and poster projects.
Graphic Design
CIAT staff can work with faculty to produce computer-generated custom graphics or improve illustrations to enhance instructional content. This service also includes the creation of custom graphics for use within PowerPoint presentations.
Below are custom-designed, Towson University-themed PowerPoint templates that can be used by any Towson University student, faculty or staff member.
Towson faculty presenting at a national conference or local event and in need of a custom poster to illustrate their research should contact CIAT for assistance. CIAT staff will design, create and print posters. Because posters are developed on a first-come, first-served basis, faculty are encouraged to submit project requests as soon as possible. Please note that once development begins on the poster project, there is a minimum two-week turnaround. Additionally, due to limited resources, there is a limit of one printout per project.
Poster Presentation Templates
Faculty interested in creating their own poster presentations can do so using the following PowerPoint templates and then submit to CIAT for printing. The PowerPoint templates include instructions and guidance on how to place content within the templates. There is a minimum one week turnaround for print request.
Please submit graphic design, poster creation and printing requests as early as possible to Tiffany Henley (CIATProjects@towson.edu).
Video Production
Towson faculty interested in recording a guest speaker or creating an instructional video to enhance their courses should contact CIAT. CIAT staff can assist with recording course-related on-campus events, converting analog video into web-ready formats, and creating fully produced instructional and educational videos.
CIAT staff will work with faculty to determine the best delivery method for video projects, which can include Mediasite, iTunes-U, and other options.
To contribute to Towson’s Green campaign, CIAT has reduced the use of video tape and increased the use of digital technology to record and distribute video content.
Please submit video production requests as early as possible to dmerino@towson.edu.
