Information Security & Compliance

Protecting your personal information is often overlooked when using the internet, especially in a university setting. The Office of Information Security plays a vital role in assuring that your computing experience is as safe as possible. Information Security helps keep you safe by preventing phishing scams, preventing the spread of viruses, fending off hackers and other behind the scenes security tasks.

As a student, finding the time to balance a busy social and academic life and while worrying about keeping your computer safe can be difficult. Taking the time, however, to at least be aware of these types of dangers is important. The Office of Technology Services (OTS) has the essential tools and tips to keep your experience on the Web a safe and secure one.

Please use the navigation bar on the left hand side of the screen to discover other ways Information Security can help you better secure your computer and data.

OpenDNS is now protecting the entire Towson network, increasing the speed of navigating websites and preventing unintended access to phishing and malware sites.
