Installation & Repair Costs

The following installation and repair costs for computer, network and telephone services have been approved by President's Staff, effective April 2001:

Computers, Printers and Peripherals:

Repairs Under Warranty:

For repairs for any computer, printer or peripheral that are still under warranty, there will be no charge to the department.

Repairs Not Covered Under Warranty:

In order to contain costs, departments will be responsible for repair costs (which include labor and materials) for any computer, printer or peripheral which is not under warranty.

Upgrades:

For upgrades/add-ons for any computer, printer or peripheral, the department will be responsible for upgrade costs (which include labor and materials).

Computer Data (Network) Outlet Installation Charges

A computer data (or network) outlet is required to connect a computer to the campus network, campus computer systems and the Internet. The cost for network wiring and equipment will be paid by a central university fund and will NOT be the responsibility of a state-supported department. Self-support departments, including grant and contract accounts, will be responsible for the cost of all network wiring and equipment (NOTE: Self-support organizations have a budget code that does not begin with a one.). Academic computer lab projects funded by technology fees will be responsible for the cost of network wiring and equipment.

If you have questions about these costs, please contact the Faculty/Staff Help Center.
