Rollout and Upgrade Projects

Campus Phone System Upgrade: Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

The campus is currently undergoing a project to migrate from the current PBX telephone service, which is nearing the end of its life, to a new, network-based phone service also known as VoIP. This site will provide ongoing information about the project.

VoIP Features

  • Conference capability for up to eight callers
  • A history feature that shows missed, received and placed calls

  • Faculty/staff directory searchable from the phone display

  • Ability to receive two calls on the same line.

  • Ability to create speed dials through a phone management website

  • Ability to receive voice mail as an email with a audio attachment

Upgrade Information

  • Minimal phone outages are expected

  • Your phone number won’t change

  • Training, including workshops, videos and quick reference guides are available.
