ResNet Acceptable Use Policy and OTS Guidelines for Responsible
Computing
All TU students connecting to the ResNet must comply with
acceptable uses of the network as outlined in the first document [PDF] linked
below and adhere to the more general guidelines for responsible
computing detailed on the second document linked below.
Consequences of Copyright Policy
Violation
"...TU policy prohibits the receipt, possession, or distribution
of copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder.
Federal law also prohibits such actions (Title 17, Section 106, U.S.
Code). Motion pictures, television programs, sound recordings, musical
compositions, literary and pictorial works, video games, computer
software, and other types of works are automatically protected by
copyright under U.S. law, regardless of whether the work carries a
copyright notice or not. In accordance with U.S. law, TU must respond to
instances of copyright infringement when notified by copyright holders..."
