The SCS Studio Gallery

Welcome to the SCS Studio Gallery!  Here we have assembled examples of graphic design and multimedia projects completed wholly or partly in the SCS Studio (CK 36) and/or using the same SCS equipment available to all TU students. We are grateful to the credited authors of these works for allowing SCS to post them here, and we sincerely hope they will provide clarification and inspiration to students planning to use the SCS Studio for their own multimedia projects. You've got creative potential, it's time to tap it!

Be sure revisit this page periodically to see what's up in the Studio.

Student Group Interviews

Spring 2010
These interview videos were produced by students enrolled in Dr. Colleen Ebacher's Spring 2010 HONR 370.325 class. The student groups recorded the interviews direct to iMovie in the SCS Studio, and then subsequently edited the recordings in the SCS Studio and/or Learning Center. The final productions were processed for Web delivery and published by CIAT Multimedia Services.

Screencasting Projects

We use the term "screencast" to describe video productions which are composed primarily of computer screens and intended to demonstrate or discuss computing applications. The same software and techniques may be used to produce a video of a PowerPoint presentation.

This demonstration video was produced using Adobe Captivate, one of the multimedia applications available the the SCS Studio, Lab and Learning Center. Captivate records your computer screen and allows you to add voiceover, highlights and captions. Then, Captivate allows you to save the final product as a Flash movie, ready for publishing to the Web.

Here are some examples of standalone audio recordings made in the SCS Studio with the Rohe Podcaster microphone or in the field using one of the SCS digital audio recorder kits.

Solstice Drum Circle MP3Solstice Drum Circle
June 2010
SCS used one of the Samson Zoom H2 digital audio recorders to make this open air recording of an amateur drum circle on June 21, 2010. We simply set the recorder in the middle of the circle and pressed record. So this recording represents the quality one can achieve with no environmental control or rehearsal.
