The Annual Report is a celebration of the accomplishments of this division and each of its staff. As the university experiences changes and transformations, we are prepared to meet the challenges ahead with the same core values and beliefs that molded this institution into the university that it is today -- beliefs in the significance of service and innovation, the constant pursuit of excellence, and the enduring emphasis of efficiency and effectiveness.
In conformance with Towson’s University Relations Department policy, the Division of Administration and Finance follows Associated Press (AP) style for all publications. This guide is an abbreviated version of the AP stylebook focusing on the tenets most pertinent to writing in the university setting. The guide is broken into two sections — one on style and one on punctuation — that contain information on spelling, capitalization, abbreviation, grammar and punctuation. It is organized alphabetically to serve as a quick reference for your benefit.
B-CaUSE was formed in 2008 comprising of 13
higher education institutions and is supported by the Baltimore Collegetown Network. The mission
of the B-CaUSE network is to foster collaboration
on ideas, best practices, and projects between the institutions of higher education to advance campus and regional sustainability goals. The network meets quarterly, and over the years the group has
discussed operational issues such as composting, energy reductions, greenhouse gas management, and alternative transportation options, as well as people focused issues such as fostering positive behavior change, successful communications strategies, and engaging students to make meaningful change. By sharing the inspiring work occurring at each of our institutions, the members of this network are clearly stronger through this beneficial collaboration.
The report tells an important story of sustainability in Baltimore. As seen throughout the school narratives, sustainability is a common thread that ties us all together.
If you are an expectant mother, or nursing mother, attending school or working at Towson University, you’ll be glad to know that there are now several on-site Nursing Mothers’ Rooms. All Nursing Mothers’ Rooms provide a private, secure, clean space for breastfeeding mothers; these rooms are available to all Towson University students, faculty, staff and their spouses/domestic partners to provide a comfortable, convenient place on campus for breastfeeding or breast milk pumping. While some women prefer to nurse their babies in a private, quiet, distraction-free environment, it is important to stress that this is a choice, not a requirement. The nursing stations are located in five buildings on campus.

2012 Ace Award Presentation
The Administration and Finance Division held its Annual Meeting December 12 in the West Village Commons. At the meeting, Interim Vice President Mark Behm discussed the division's 2012 successes and challenges, and presented the nominees and winners for the ACE award.
The 2012 non-exempt ACE award winner is HR Operations Associate Mary Dunaway, and the exempt award winner is OTS Software Trainer and Documentation Specialist Cyndi Caravello. Congratulations Mary and Cyndi!
Smoke Free Towson Website
Towson University strives to create a Clean, Safe, Pretty and Happy campus environment, and we believe that all members of the campus community are entitled to clean air. The smoke-free campus policy went into affect August 1, 2010, thereby designating all property owned and operated by Towson University as smoke-free. The policy was developed in spring 2008 with input from the Student Government Association, University Residence Government, Towson University Staff Council, and University Senate.
