Towson’s Alternative Transportation program provides convenient, cost effective and environmentally-friendly options to help you get to campus.

Shuttle Services: Towson’s on-campus and off-campus shuttles are available with no charge to students, staff and faculty.

MTA Transit Subsidy: All Towson University faculty and staff are eligible to receive a $25 discount on monthly passes for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus, light rail and subway, as well as the MARC Train. Faculty and Staff are also eligible to purchase transit passes with a pre-tax payroll deduction.

Guaranteed Ride Home: Students, faculty and staff who do not bring a car to campus can sign up for the alternative transportation program, which provides parking permits for emergencies and a guaranteed ride home.

Zipcar: Students and employees can rent a car by the hour from Zipcar, Towson’s official car share partner.

Bike share: Students, faculty and staff can rent a bicycle for free from Campus Recreational Services.

Hybrid vehicle discount: Students and employees who drive a hybrid vehicle can receive a 50 percent discount on their parking permit.

Electric vehicle charging: Students and employees can charge an electric vehicle for free at one of Towson’s electric vehicle charging stations installed in the garages. A valid TU permit is required.
