Tiger pride day 2009
Towson University students, administrators, alumni and legislators gathered in Annapolis on February 18th for the Student Government Association's 10th Annual Tiger Pride Day. 35 students attended both sessions of the Maryland General Assembly to accept resolutions honoring Tiger Pride Day, and visited with their respective legislators to lobby on issues of higher education. Later in the afternoon students, alumni and administrators hosted a reception in the Miller Senate Building to thank legislators for their continued support of higher education and to highlight the great things happening at Towson.
Speakers President Bob Caret, Senator Jim Brochin, student Dayvon Love, Student Government Association President Kristen Guy and alumna Connie Kihm highlighted a number of Towson's accomplishments and plans for the future. This year marked the first time that Tiger Pride Day, an annual event sponsored by the Student Government Association, welcomed members of the Alumni Association to help celebrate TU in Annapolis. SGA organizer Sarah Elfreth felt the success of the day was an excellent way to mark the event's 10th anniversary!
