TU Going Green
TU has made large strides in establishing sustainability initiatives throughout campus. Students, employees, and community members can all play a vital role in going green by taking advantage of the recycling options, energy reduction programs, and environmentally friendly transportation available at the university. TU boasts U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver and gold certified buildings. The new West Village Commons and College of Liberal Arts buildings have both been honored with LEED certifications. In 2011, these sustainability efforts were recognized on a national level when TU was named to Princeton Review's Guide to 311 Green Colleges.
