TU Black Student Union
Since it was founded 41 years ago, TU's Black Student Union (BSU) has helped the academic and personal growth of many students in the TU community. The BSU functions as a family of talented individuals who work together and help each other achieve outstanding goals.
The organization is comprised of different subgroups to give students the opportunity to develop leadership skills in their own areas of personal interest. The Soul Dance Team and Rhythm Step Team each take the dedication from creative students to choreograph routines to be preformed for the entire TU community. In addition, the BSU has established the first modeling team on campus: it provides students with experience in modeling, fashion design, and event coordination. Black Voices, the BSU's literary magazine, is written and designed completely by students and showcases editorials, poetry, short stories, and artwork.
The Black Student Union continues the tradition it established over four decades ago: providing support and services to the minority students while encouraging students to grow and become active in TU's entire campus community.
