Don’t Miss This--$5000 Scholarship Opportunity
In August 2003, Towson University entered into a partnership with information technology executives in the Mid-Atlantic region to form the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum. The Forum is designed to foster excellence in business and information technology in an environment that promotes educational and networking opportunities for CIOs facing similar challenges and issues. CIOs participate with peers to share information and experiences, and to exchange best practices in peer-to-peer discussion sessions.
Since the Spring 2006 semester, The Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum has awarded scholarships to 10 well deserving Towson University students. The Forum has announced their intention of providing scholarships for up to $5000 for the Spring 2008 semester as well. Successful candidates need to be full-time undergraduate students that have completed at least one full year at Towson University and are studying in the fields of Computer Information Sciences or Business and Economics. Candidates must have and maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher and be entering or in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study. Those interested applicants meeting the above criteria will be required to submit a 500 word written statement expressing their goals as well as why they feel they should be considered for this award.
The application deadline is November 1, 2007. Application materials can be obtained by visiting http://wwwnew.towson.edu/outreach/cioforum/scholarships.asp or by contacting Bobbie O’Connell in the Division of Economic and Community Outreach at (410) 704-3764, roconnell@towson.edu.
