Important Changes to Payroll Processing
The Central Payroll Bureau (CPB) has changed the delivery method for distributing payroll checks and advices. Direct deposit pay advices will no longer be mailed to employees, and Towson University will incur additional charges for each payroll check mailed. As a result, all employees must sign up for both direct deposit and Web-Only Access by January 2010. This Paperless Pay initiative will help to reduce costs and save paper at the university.
If you are already enrolled in the direct deposit program:
• Sign in to CPB’s Payroll Online Service Center (POSC) Web site at https://interactive.marylandtaxes.com/Extranet/cpb/POSC/User/Start.aspx and choose the Web-Only Access option to go paperless.
• If you have not yet registered for POSC, you can do so using your social security number, date of birth, Towson agency number (360224) and most recent check/advice number found on the top right of your pay advice or paycheck. If you don’t have the check/advice number, you can contact the Financial Services Help Line to receive it.
If you are still receiving a hard copy pay check:
• First, you must enroll in the direct deposit program by completing the application at http://compnet.comp.state.md.us/Central_Payroll_Bureau/CPB_Static_Files/directdeposit.pdf.
• Once your application is processed, log in to POSC at https://interactive.marylandtaxes.com/Extranet/cpb/POSC/User/Start.aspx and choose the Web-Only Access option to go paperless.
• If you have not yet registered for POSC, you can do so using your social security number, date of birth, Towson agency number (360224) and most recent check/advice number found on the top right of your pay advice or paycheck. If you don’t have the check/advice number, you can contact the Financial Services Help Line to receive it.

If you are one of the 400 employees already going green by using paperless payroll, we would like to thank you.
