Towson University Daily Digest Snow Emergency – Vehicle Relocation and Shuttle Service Suspensions

The university is implementing parking restrictions and shuttle service suspensions in response to the major snow storm predicted for February 5 – 7. Listed below, these restrictions will allow the university’s Facilities staff to clear parking areas in a safe and efficient manner. Due to the amount of snow being predicted, vehicles left on surface lots or roof spaces in garages may be plowed in. Help us help you by relocating or parking your vehicle in a covered commuter area of one of the garages.

Vehicle Relocation

Effective 4 p.m. Friday, February 5, vehicles should be relocated as indicated below:

• All resident permit holders for all locations (Towsontown Garage lot 7, Ward Hall lot 7, Glen Towers lot 26, West Village lots 18 and 22, Towson Center and Millennium Hall) must move their vehicles to a covered commuter parking area in one of the three garages. Ticketing in the commuter areas of the garages will be suspended from 6 a.m. Friday, February 5 to 6 a.m. Monday, February 8 to accommodate relocations.
• Faculty and staff who remain on campus or come to campus during this time should park their vehicles in the faculty/staff or commuter areas of the garages.
• Anyone parking on campus from 4 p.m. Friday, February 5 through 6 p.m. Sunday, February 7 must park in the covered areas of the parking garages.
• All gated lots will be locked down to restrict access to surface lots. Vehicles in the lots will still be able to exit.
• All surface lots and exposed roof parking spaces in all garages will be closed.
• Vehicles should be relocated back to the assigned areas after the snow has stopped and the lots have been cleared, but no later than 6 a.m. Monday, February 8.

Shuttle Service Suspension

All shuttle service will be suspended effective 7 p.m. Friday, February 5. Normal service will resume at 6:30 a.m. Monday, February 8.

Please monitor Towson’s homepage for information regarding campus closures. Parking and shuttle questions can be addressed by contacting Parking and Transportation Services at 410-704-PARK or UPARK@towson.edu.

We appreciate your cooperation.
