Campus Phone Change

The University Police, with the support of OTS, have changed the way employees place external phone calls from a campus telephone; effective August 21, 2012, campus users will need to dial 6 + (area code)-XXX-XXXX to connect with external constituents, or for long distance 6 + 1 + (area code)-XXX-XXXX. This will eliminate accidentally dialing 9-1-1 and connecting to Baltimore County Emergency Response and Campus Police.

OTS will automatically reprogram all external speed dials currently set-up on your phone.

If you are sending a fax to an external constituent, you will also dial 6 + (area code)XXX-XXXX and 6 + 1 + (area code)XXX-XXXX for long distance fax numbers.

If you do not have the new VoIP phones, you will need to dial 9 to reach an external constituents.
