Study Abroad

Study abroad is a rewarding, life-transforming experience that is an integral part of any academic program, and is an ideal preparation for life after graduation. The TU Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education supports and encourages every student to study abroad at least once during their undergraduate program.

Visual Storytelling in Florence, Italy

Spend four weeks in Florence in summer 2013, exploring the process of nonfictional storytelling by visually documenting the human experience from an artistic/journalistic/ethnographic perspective. Drawing from a variety of academic disciplines, discussion topics will consider the influence of media technologies on contemporary visual communication, as well as the methods, means, and ethical practices involved in achieving specific storytelling goals.

Application deadline is March 15, 2013, with admission on a rolling basis. Early application is advised as space is limited. The program dates are May 30 – June 29, 2013.
