Art History Major
Honors Program
Art History offers majors the opportunity to complete a Departmental Honors Program. Interested students typically apply to the Departmental Honors Program during the second semester of the junior year. Students spend one year completing an honors research and writing project that is focused on an avenue of investigation. Successful completion of the paper along with the defense, not only allows for a diploma reading "graduation with Departmental Honors," but also helps students learn advanced research and writing skills and train for careers in art history as well as for graduate school.
